About
Early Dawn Ministries
EARLY
DAWN was established in October of 1999 by Dawn Okpisz with
her husband Pastor Steve Okpisz. Dawn has a long history of
music training and performance experience. As a singer and song
writer, Dawn released her first album with a pop-rock contemporary
Christian style. Her voice has been compared to Olivia Newton-John
and Twila Paris. Her style of music has incredible harmonies
and backup vocals like Point of Grace but the music is more
like Steven Curtis Chapman and Avalon. Dawn has shared the stage
with Echelon, Bob Lenz and Steve Hill and the Mounds. Paul Clayton
of KFUO radio, St. Louis, interviewed Dawn and aired the song
"Early Dawn." During the interview, Paul Clayton said
"You sent me a CD and of course I'm always skeptical when
I get local CDs and cassettes because everybody tries real hard
and they sound great in church but sometimes they do not sound
quite as good played against Debbie Boone, Sandi Patti and Steve
Green you know what I mean .... but you've got a wonderful talent
here and were gonna put one of your songs in our regular rotation
at least one of your songs."
Dawn Okpisz and Kristi Jasberg wrote the majority of the lyrics
and music on this first album, EARLY DAWN, LOVE EXPLOSION. It
is our hope that you will enjoy the uplifting words of God's
love and grace in this music.
The ministry focus for EARLY DAWN is to spread a message of
hope and healing that comes to us from the only true Lord and
Savior Jesus Christ. The name EARLY DAWN is a reference to the
resurrection of Jesus as he rose at dawn early in the morning.
The EARLY DAWN theme verse is Psalm 30:5, "Weeping may
remain for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning."
Dawn is currently receiving invitations to sing and share her
testimony for conferences, retreats, womens events, special
worship services and events celebrating Christ through the arts.
